I’ve gotten take-out and dined in for dinner. Both times the food was delicious and fresh and the staff were extremely friendly. Smaller dining room with a few tables outside, very casual spot. I especially love their veggie taco- well seasoned and good mix of vegetables!

We had a fantastic experience at Sabroso! Mexican Grill. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was packed with authentic Mexican flavor, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. The staff were just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A special shoutout to Jesus, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated. You can tell the team takes real pride in both their service and the food they serve. We love the fact that we can bring our own beers to enjoy our meals. This was my third visit, and I’ll definitely keep coming back. I’ll also continue recommending Sabroso to friends and family. A true gem on Ashland Avenue!

The food was incredible and the service was OUTSTANDING. The staff was so kind and personable, thank you Juan and Raul. They offered us a habanero salsa to try and it was delicious. Highly recommend the quesabirria plate. This was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Chicago!

Sabroso is the best! Service is always excellent and quick. The food is sooo delicious! Highlights include the california burrito, tamales, pazole & don’t forget the bunuelos! I highly recommend bringing your own tequila to add to their homemade margarita mix.

Food is seriously delicious. They have a great cooking crew because the food was perfect temperature and perfect taste. The chorizo is home made too! Jesus is a gem! Great service and funny too. They have 3 main salsas - red is garlic based, light green is either spicy serrano or spicy habanero, darker green is lime based. GREAT SALSAS! We had breakfast burrito with chorizo and breakfast burrito without flour tortilla. The potatoes are fire good!

Must go! The waiter was 6 stars. The food was tasty, starting with the salsa coming with the tortillas. I ordered the carne asada, it was served on a sizzling plate. There was a nice charcoal flavors and the marinade flavors were coming really well. It was a really nice experience, I'll visit again for sure

Sabroso is a great establishment. We had the chicken and vegetarian enchiladas. Portion size is quite filling and we had it a with nice tamarind jarritos. Thank you for the lovely dessert on the house it was so good!!! Definitely would come back again!!!

LOVED everything we had. Definitely stop in! This place is so cute but the food is even better. Authentic and delicious. Can’t wait to come back. Our server was so nice and attentive. He even brought us out a little fried donut treat on the house, which was also incredible. Don’t miss out on this little gem!
